Ted, are you saying i could the ZL1 plug for driving around on the street, Dragstrip with 93-104 octane without NOS and 150 shot on the strip with race fuel and be fine to go back to driving on the street without changing plugs..... if my tune is setup for that correct?

Thank ya sir... hopefully Mike will figure it out cause its becoming a pain changing plugs every time at the track. Looks like ive been in a fight with the cat with all the scratches on my hands from changing them. Plus the risk of messing one up by being in a hurry

Ted, I know the plug doesn't control combustion temps. But won't I be borderline on turning the projected tip plug into a detonation hazard in the combustion chamber with nitrous and boost and pump gas and no meth and a fairly high dynamic compression ratio of a stock cammed L99?

You can get away with a projected tip on FI, but on nitrous I can tell you for a fact that the zr1 plug is too hot for a cammed/nitrous setup. I tried them with a 150 shot with up to 8* of timing pulled out. Still too hot. On my motor setup they are perfect though. I run the BR7EF plugs on the giggly juice.
Every setup is different, gotta read the plugs to know what the engine wants. It you have a 10 lb setup on boost and you are having to pull timing down really low to make it work, the plug is too hot. Sure the hotter plugs drive and idle better, but Ill take a little more safety with my setup. |

A lot of people run the tr6 plugs, tr6ix is just the iridium version.
