ac belt problem

has anyone had a problem with the ac belt having to be replaced? this is going to be the thrid ac belt to be put on, it looks like it is being torn, but i looked for something that could be causing this to happen and nothing, dealer is going to call a gm tech to see if there is a problem.

Sounds like you might be able to hit up a lemon law on this one at this rate. I haven't heard of an AC belt problem really from others.

Sounds awfully weird to have just the AC belt getting chewed up. Have they inspected all the pulleys and the belt path? There has to be something eating those belts. It doesn't just magically get torn apart.

The day I picked mine up the ac belt came off. I took it back after a friend noticed it dancing around when I popped the hood to show him the engine. They had to cut it and order one since there were no parts available and since there's no tensioner the belt can't be reused cause of stretching. Perhaps they're not install it right on your car? Mines been fine since then 3000+ miles later.
