Get the denial letter - I bet there is a major screw up! I agree, you should not have to settle for a sub-prime loan. It just makes no sense - 10k down should be a no brainer - even if you default on the loan the car is still worth much more than the loan - crazy!

Why is life such that every time you get excited - something comes along to kick you in the nutz!
The online application was screwy for BOA... they never asked how much down was going on the car... they just asked how much of a loan I would need...

I do have a credit union through work, the best rate I can get through them is 4.49%... which is really good, if I am accepted for that... however not as good as that 4.15% through BOA...

Do you think it would be easier to get a loan through a credit union like that?

Go to Camaro Tracking - they will track it for you! They also have the number to railroad so you can check it yourself. You need to go to the tracking forums.

Yeah, real easy and the difference of .35% interest on a five year $35000 loan is not enough to sweat. Also if your dealer will honor it, you get supplier pricing on credit union loan, you can get an authorization # for discount on GM website. At 4% I would keep my cash in my pocket, by the way my parents are pharmicist as well and have had a family owned drugstore in SC for last 40yrs. great career choice.

Actually I have supplier pricing through the company I work for... one of the other perks... If I were to finance all of that though... the payments would be like 600-700 a month... that's a bit steep... That's why I wanted to put money down... keep my payments under 500 a month that way I can save more on a monthly basis... It works out...

Thank you for the advice, it is very much appreciated... You are right the .35% isn't enough to sweat... I just have to make sure I can get approved for that low of a rate...

That's fantastic that your parents were able to retain their business in this day in age of corporations and big pharma... we lose so much when they get their greedy hands in things...

I had ym dealer call GM directly and he told me that it was bayed waiting to get the rally stripes and he gave me the VIN #. I then called the GM number listed above, because I am nosey, and got the same response after a short wait on hold from the custermer service girl I talked too.

About 3 months ago I applied for a loan through BOA and got approved for 30K @ 4.88% for 72 mo. (lowest rate available). I applied thinking I would be seeing my car A LOT sooner that I am now... anyway, that loan was good for 30 days, but I had no car... so it came and went...

Here I am now today, I go to reapply for the same 30K loan for 72 mo. (new low rate is 4.15%). I assume I'd be accepted no problems... well I was denied... no loan whatsoever... Here is my current status:

Pharmacist on salary (6 figures)
under 10K in student loans
no outstanding credit card debt (I pay in full EVERY month)
NEVER a late payment
All bills paid in full on time
my credit score as of last April was 723...

I plan on putting 10K down on this thing (more than enough for a down payment)... Why the hell was I denied??? Anyone have any financial sense here that can answer that question??

I am very frustrated with this situation...

I know I have credit good enough for the best rate out there... apparent as of the loan application I made back in late September which I was APPROVED for... UGH!!!

HELP!!

Also... going forward... what should I do, or where should I go for a loan???

Damn that does suck. for sure try to shop around. With your credit score you should have no problem qualifing for a loan at all. BOA suck anyway. I do still have a checking acount with them just for paying bills. But since they got the government bailout money they have been real tight on there lending as of lately.

I went with USAA for my loan at 4.5% for a 4 year note. I am also puting down about $15,000. I hope it all works out for you. Seems like it's always the ones that can manage and budget there money are the ones that get screwed when it comes to this kinda thing.
