I think the ZL1 will sell less then what we all think...
possibly round 47k i make this prediction off of the market of the Camaro... 2011 and 12 SS models went down 3 grand in MSRP than last year... this implicates a that the ZL1 market-wise wouldnt sell above 47k it just wouldnt make sense... especially with the economy... who else agrees?

Here is another little tid bit of information if you don't want to get taken for a ride...
GM family/friends/supplier.... This is permitted on 99.9% of cars GM sells. In recent years when the Camaro was hot off the press, dealerships would tell unknowing customers "oh sorry, GM doesn't allow family/supplier discounts on the Camaro". This is a 100% LIE. It's up to the dealer if they CHOOSE to honor the discount. Only cars recently that GM disallows the discounts on were the ZR1 and CTS-V but I bet that's lifted now. GM may disallow the discount on the ZL1 at first but you can make your dealer show you proof. They (dealer) aren't obligated to honor the discount but they ARE OBLIGATED to be honest with you. I will find out from my dealer the skinny on it as soon as he knows... |

True BUT there is much less allowance on a Camaro over a Corvette. It's not linear.
Both under the "old" GMS system: My 2007 Corvette, MSRP $45,000, GMS $37,000 (17% off) My 2010 Camaro, MSRP $37,000, GMS $33,000 (11% off) Plus the system is new now, discounts are much less... |

I asked my cousin who is a manager at the Chevy dealer how many he is getting in. He said 2. He also said they would sell to TOP bider. $100k I bet. Dont get too excited unless you are able to order one from a dealer that will let it go for sticker. GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!

Well unless your cousin is Merlin, or has a crystal ball, he can't have that information bc it won't be released until the 24th but nice try.
Are some of you even paying attention? Oct 24 - allocation consensus is released to dealer... This is when they find out how many and when. Oct 29 - workbook opens (orders officially taken) |

Either I missed this or it's a change... Looks like full ordering doesn't start until Thursday, November 3rd... which makes WAY more sense than a Saturday. Not sure what "Quick Order Application" is... Seems it may be a few more days guys... I'd still contact the dealer the 24th... again on the 29th and then see what you need to do on the 3rd... if anything! Sorry missed this :( |

Evidently the difference is "Workbench’s Quick Order" and "Workbench’s traditional Order Configurator" Not knowing how GMs workbench works, but the Oracle system that Im used to using you could order, but you would not be able to "configure" options until a given date. I am thinking this is probably very similar in that you may be able to "drop" a ZL1 order in, but it maybe have to be configured with options (colors, interior, wheels, sunroof etc) at a later date. That seems most likely to me anyway. Maybe Becky will chime in to clear up the confusion because we are talking about the difference of 5 days here.
