Stock Pirelli on Bigger wider rims

Is this correct, the stock 8" wide tire can fit on an 8.5" wide rim??

According to Tirerack.com, the recommended wheel width for the factory 20" tires is:

245/45ZR20 = 7.5 - 9.0 inch
275/40ZR20 = 9.0 - 11.0 inch

Personally, I don't think I would stretch that 275/40 on a 11" wheel, but I've seen plenty of people put them on a 10" wheel just fine. You will be fine with the stock 245/45 on a 8.5 inch rim.

I have the 245s on 9" rim & 275's on 10.5" rim with no problems.

I have 245s on 8.5s and 275s on 10s. The Pirellis on the front were fine, but the rears looked stretched a little. I now have Invos all the way around and the rears fit much better. Probably something to do with the stiffer sidewall on the Pirellis as well as the tire design.
