Yeah, step on the go pedal. The AFM gets over ridden. put the tranny in "M". When you are done, put it back into "D".

The auto is more convenient, the stick lets you row through the gears. My L99 auto gets to 60 MPH in 3.8 seconds and driving around town it's not easy to find a place to do this.

Make your decision on which type of tranny you want, don't worry about which is faster in a 1/4 track because they are close and so much of that will be driver and mod $$.
You my man are right on ... STOCK the A66 is faster in the 1/8 mile .. who cares about a tenth of a second in the 1/4 mile .. driving on the street around here if you take someone off the line at a red light you'll break off long before you'll hit 100+mph anyways ... So crusing the streets it's the A6 .. and if you do go to the track chances are you will be modded atleast a little bit where the A6 will be the winner Again (with both the A6 and the M6 have the same mods)..... There you have it once and for all the WINNER IS THE A6!!!! I know I will have ruffeled some feathers on a M6 owner..who will post and tell us all why his is faster .. This debate may never end .. but atleast Iam just stating the facts... unlike some of the M6 guys on here that will bring up the only car M6 on the Top 5 list and the only one running Drag Radials .. see see look at that M6 go go go that my friend is your only saving Grace .. Take his Drag Radials off and there will not be 1 M6 in the Top 5 List .. Not a one ... so point to that car (what about OrangeChevy..What about Orange Chevy) and try to explain why A6's dominate the Top 5,10,15,20 or 25 list..They don't want to talk about all the cars on the list ..just OrangeChevy ....wahhh wahhh wahhh you big M6 Babies..

I still can't follow your argument. Which top 5 list is that?
I don't even own an M6. Following you're logic just really entertains me. Trust me, if your argument was that the M6 was faster and you presented it in the same way, I'd still be questioning your logic.
You and your insecurities are making other A6 owners look bad.

How old are you?

What's really funny is he can barely even type that the M6 is faster in the quarter mile, like it pains him so much to even admit that. And, because the 60 time is faster, that's the really important thing to him. Because everyone knows the quarter mile has never been the standard measuring stick for performance since pretty much the dark ages.

He also seems to think that list he's giving is important to some of us. What's funny is he doesn't even know what the list is. It's not the 12.5 and under list. It's the list of cars with only certain mods, no internal engine changes. And, this list should be important to me, why? Because as I explained earlier, once you mod it's all about who spends the most money (in most cases). Mods mean NOTHING to me. Once you mod, there's always a better mod. And, so because OrangeChevy put the most money/work into modding his car, he has the FASTEST one right now. Everything else is unimportant. He says that everyone has the same mods? BS! Generally, NO ONE has the same mods. I guess he thinks OrangeChevy's 10 second time was done on the same mods as everyone else...because all mods are the same. LOL.

Me? I understand the pros & cons of both versions, and think they are both awesome. But to blindly think that the automatic is faster, without even admitting to yourself that most people are going to be talking about stock versions in the quarter mile or simply the fastest quarter mile is pretty funny.

As I said earlier, it's like the Ford Super Cobra people complaining that their tires were terrible, and that's why they rated poorly in the motor trend test against the Hennessey.

As far as doing the quarter mile, I'll be keeping mine all stock...but I will be doing bracket racing. Not everyone mods their cars, nor feels the need to do so. I -might- mod it after my warrantee is up, but that's many many miles from now. He also thinks that everyone is going to tune their car because again, that voids certain things as well. If you tune to make the automatic more effecient, that will probably void the warrantee on many things on the transmission.

So in this case, he has this logic that his way is the only way people do things...thus that's how it is.

I also thought that 12 year olds were the only ones that tried to taunt people with wah wah wah!

ok .. My last post on this ..I didn't want to piss anyone off but when I see the someone making claims I had to throw in the big picture. I see when the OP asks which is faster you just want to look at the Stock 1/4 mile list and see more M6's than A6's who cares about 1/8 mile or 0-60's because it will prove you wrong Or look at the mod list with Tune and Headers and just point to the 1 OrangeChevy because you don't want to look past that and all the A6's. In all honesty I think that either one will beat the other on any given day. To argue anymore isn't worth it bacause the M6's see what they want and the A6's see what they want. I quit.. its really awesome that we are soo close and one is not better than the other anyway.. .. like the other post .. we are having a civil war here doing couch races ..

A6s are quicker and more consistent unless your racing against someone who can drive a stick! Stock for stock you cant pull enough fuses to beat a well driven LS-3. Camarofest is coming up so maybe we can get a few match races and find out whos the fastest???
