Checkout the TSP 304 stainless headers. They're a good bit under what your thinking price wise & they are absolutely first rate. Headers make great power gains on 5th gens no doubt!

They look nice, but no mention of where they are made. The price is suggestive...
Have there been no header comparison dyno tests? With how easy it is to swap on this car, I would have thought somebody had done it.

The problem with that is, as suggested above, the gains from lt headers are made from the tune. The same tune won't work as effectively on all headers so there are several variables that come into play when trying to see which one gives the highest increase.

"Well this company made the highest increase so theirs is the best." Well did they make the most because the headers are better then everyone else or was it because the tune was better then the others? See what I'm saying?

As the poster above said, to get the most you need a tune, which means goodbye powertrain warranty.

If you're good with that then proceed. If you're voiding the warranty, might as well add a cam or supercharger while you're at it. Make it worth it!

Again, this is not necessarily true. Your service manager can tell you your warranty is void because of a tune, but that it not true. GM must prove your tune or mods caused the failure.

A member of this forum just won a case against GM to replace his transmission and his car is modded and tuned.
Don't believe everything your service manager says.

Not true...I have a supercharged/tuned car in for warranty repairs right now because GM put a defective oil pump in it that they have a TSB on. They know about the tune, and so far it has not been an issue..but the situation is not 100% resolved yet. I should not be liable for the damage to my motor because my mods had nothing to do with the oil pump having a defective check valve. This by the way was verified when they pulled the pump out. It all comes down to the dealer and if they want to be helpful.

While a lot of places will tell you all headers make the same power..features do matter..and do make ,prepower. The difference between a bare bones header, and one with nicely ported primaries, merge spike, merge collector, well thought out bends and so forth can be 5-10 HP untuned. People will explain this away, just like they explain difference between intakes away..but it is real. The bottom line is if headers can give you 30 RWHP without a tune, then the 5-10 HP difference between a basic and premium header is a lot. 5-10 HP does not seem like much stated that way. But if someone says this header makes 33% more power than this one, then people listen

As for variable..see the below thread. All runs were untuned except for the supercharged one. As you can see..there is not really any variable between 3 runs with the same header, but there is a gain when you switch to a better designed header.

I have an L99. Get the LT headers!!! LT headers are about the best bang for the buck for adding hp you'll get. And they sound SWEET! I have Kooks 1 7/8" LT headers.

This is true but to some people a 33% power increase isn't worth 243% of the price.
