Subwoofer interface

Since there is a subwooffer add on option, is there already a speaker wire in the trunk to where this will virtually be a easy install? TIA

I don't know about the wiring, but I saw a price of around $1,100.00. That seems kind of steep.

Where did you see that? Don't say your dealer.

Yeah, its very high. I'd like to buy an aftermarket subwoofer and add myself. Just wanted to know if the wiring is already there.

I'm sure you probably already saw the accessories catalog, but I didn't want to be rude by not responding. I know where to look when I have a question on the Camaro, Gm, or just life in general: "CAMARO5" !

Well when I checked out the trunk at the couple they had open at the Chicago Auto Show there wasn't any wiring to be found.

There wouldn't be "speaker wire" there anyway. The best we can hope for is preamp rca jacks so you could put an amp in. The battery is already in the trunk, so thats a bonus not having to run a power cable through the firewall.

The speakers that are in the trunk are very accessible so the easiest might be to run a hi -> low converter off those rear speakers and then to the amp if the head unit doesnt have rca outs or there are none in the trunk.

I think that does include an amp. I thought I saw somewhere that it was something like 250 watts. For $1100 though, thats crazy. I just picked up at MB Quart 1200 watt mono amp that is stable with a 1 ohm load, and a MB Quart Premium DVC 12 inch sub for $378. That will blow away that MTX toy system.
