The AM and FM signal antenna runs along the left side of the car to the amplifier that is under the headliner then to the rear glass. Removing the fin would not affect the AM or FM signal but you would have a hole in your roof.

No problem with the reception at all. I have done both my cars and haven't had any issue with either one. GM uses painted antennas on Cadillac and Buick. Thanks GTHAVIT for a great vid, much better than the written instruction. If anyone is interested, PM me for ordering info.

Well before I visited Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet, Veteran 1 had the drab factory black shark fin and right away, Becky said one of thier signature trade marks on on the C5's they sell, is to have the shark fin painted to match. And they painted it RED

Great Video, will come in handy. I plan on doing mine. I was just going have it painted along with some other parts, so good to know it doesn't seem to afftect anything.

Mine has a sun roof, and thinking about it, I bet if you dropped it down just a hair more in the front, with out removing the entire headliner, you could reach through the sunroof opening and it might be even easier. Just a thought!

Looks great dude!

The painted to matched fin, has been one of my secrets...
It takes 3 steps, for finish paint, to look like factory...
They are perfect fo any color!

Well done. Good video and instruction.

If I didn't have a Black car, this might be higher on my personal "to do" list however it does make me think that a custom striped or painted one might make it something that would make me me want to do it faster.

Again, thanks for sharing and it does indeed look better!

Great video. This works GREAT if you dont have a sunroof. I have tried it with the sunroof and you cant get the back of the headliner to drop down far enough to get your hands up in there. I am afraid if you have a sunroof, you may have to remove the entire headliner. I wound up stopping because Ididnt want to crease or bend the headliner by pulling down on it too much.

If anyone with a sunroof has performed this, please let us know if you removed the enitre headliner or not.
