Recommend you install a wide band given your situation. 3 vote for JRE. Good luck!

Once you get setup and learn how, you can tune any time you need to after changing mods, etc.
I'm going to partly disagree. I did buy the HPtuner to take care of one issue on my own. Once you see how many tables there are available to change and realize how much more there is to tuning besides just adjusting the fuel to get a good AFR or playing with timing is when you come to realize you could use someone's help who has tuned LSA engines extensively. I don't have a dyno to spend weeks trying to get the best numbers without wrecking my motor I can't easily maximize my tune by myself. I'm sure I could get my AFR's in line and eliminate knock counts but that's not all there is to it. Transmission torq tables, so many options. There is much info online including the injector characterization tables for my ID injectors so I could get it in the ballpark. Changing max rpm's or fan temps is simple and easy, how much to pull your timing with rising idle air temps on 40% ethanol, not so obvious.
Personally I wouldn't buy a car that had any self tuning or tune done by other than a few people mentioned here. Dave Steck from DSX is one name I haven't seen mentioned yet. I think he is knowledgeable on the engines although he might lean towards the cts-v installations?.
I have one of the tuners mentioned in this thread working on my tune right now in fact. If I thought I could safely come near his results I would being doing it myself, I can't, so I have to relax my tight grip on my wallet

Dynosteve did mine about 2.5 years ago. Changed the car for the better & I've had no issues either. To the OP I think its fair to say most of us will recommend our own tuner in part because we have experience with them.

There are several tuners on here that are very good by many accounts as well. Steve's service & response time is superb as many others will confirm & he is always there to support you.

I brought my 2012 to Ted's shop last year, and he did the tune on site, as well as adding a ported throttle body, Cold air inductions CAI. He does great work. whether you go there in person or have it done remotely.

Not trying to start any wars, but has anyone gotten a tune by one of these guys and then tried one from another? I have a tune from DynoSteve right now, but I am tempted to try one from Jannetty, GPI, etc.
