you have no idea what you are talking about - look at the tail pipe of a new truck and it is cleaner than any car - I drive them every day and diesel vehicles are cleaner than a gasoline car and have been since around 2007. DPFs have removed almost 100% of the soot from the exhaust.

Fuel oil here and diesel are spread only 25 cents apart if that is 4.10 per gallon vs 3.85 per gallon for regular gas and premium actually cost more than the diesel.

PS I have a refinery within 50 miles of me so what does that make us?

actually they have not - diesel was always a big NOx producer and created the majority of the smog in cities - with EGR action, catalytic converters and DEF schemes they have made the production of NOx almost non existent

sweet - used to be that way here in the 90s lol. Here it is congressional greed plain and simple, nothing more or nothing less - we investigate a politicians best friend only to find he is innocent - that works

it's actually because Kuwait (like most oil producing countries) has nationalized it's oil industry and can sell it for whatever they want. has nothing to do with corruption in the US. and gas was never 23 cents a gallon in the 90's. it briefly got as low as 79 and 89.

Yeah, we don't need diesel to generate NOx anymore. We have ethanol to do that.

Yep, 23 cents a liter works out to about 87 cents a gallon. I remember seeing 89 cents a gallon in the late 90s here in Wisconsin, and 75 cents a gallon at the same time in Atlanta on a trip down there. And that was pure gas, not the E10 with the watered down energy content we have now.

We were lied to plain and simple. Back in 2005 when prices started getting crazy they said it was our fault, that we use too much gas.

I bought a car that was economical, then I just gave up and would only work close to home. I got to where I can get by on 5 gallons a week if I have to and when fuel gets this high I park stuff, I stay home, I buy just enough gas to get where I'm going.

It's like the stock market how much gas prices yo yo, take a chance drive on fumes for another day because it may be 20 cents cheaper tomorrow. Many people are doing stuff like this, many more city folks can't afford cars at all anymore.

Yet they say we still use too much.
