L99 supercharger question

Hey guys I have been looking at getting a supercharger for the future and I was looking at my options. When I was looking I see that some supercharger packages can ONLY be installed on the LS3. I was wondering why is that??? If I did a LS3 conversion would I then be able to install it then? Thanks guys

You can bolt up just about any FI application to either an L99 or LS3. Magnuson and Whipple for example have specific kits available as do others.

While not necessary on a "base" installation, the LS3 conversion is highly recommended.

So like SLP tvs2300 stage 2 says only for LS3. If I do a ls3 conversion this package can work for me

Magnuson, Whipple and Edelbrock will work for both the L99 and LS3. The only thing that different is that the LS3 needs a valley cover/plate to make it work.

They all have the same components.

Like mentioned above, the LS3 conversion is a good but not needed.

I don't know that any kits require the LS3 conversion, but it is strongly recommended if you have additional goals, including a cam.

This is true but being those damn afm lifters are a weak link in the equation most want them out to ensure reliability. So while it's apart it's just as easy as changing out a few parts.

We suspect these to be the cause of my 2 cracked pistons. Think the afm lifters let go and let the valve slam the pistons. I have since converted, cammed and ZL1 pistoned the Ole L99
