Received some light reading this week.

Shipping weight 21 pounds. 2800 pages of technical goodness. I don't know why GM doesn't make this available on a cd (as far as I know).

$200 from Helm Inc. GM's official shop manual seller. Listed in the back of your owner's manual.

probably cant get it on CD because you want just one specific vehicle. I'm pretty sure GM makes the info available on ALLDATA, but you cant just pick and choose vehicles. you either subscribe or you don't.

I bet that's what the dealers do. They probably don't even get hard copies.
Decades ago, I worked at a car dealer before computers were in wide use. Didn't have any choice but to have books.

Uggh.. Chilton and Haynes. Often worthless. Look up how to change part X, and it'll start with, "Start by removing the front clip, all electrical equipment, and the fuel system..." But it will never tell you how to DO all of that. Or, how to change part Y: "First, remove part Y. Then replace part Y with a new part Y, being careful not to overtighten." God only knows WHERE part Y is located, especially since, even if we're lucky enough to get a photo, it's so close- up that it will never give clues regarding its geography.
