1LE (SS) Insurance

I just received my VIN today and wanted to verify my insurance quote was correct....I had to chuckle at my rate for my 2013 Camaro.

Full disclosure:
State Farm (I have used the same company for 22 years)
39 years/old
No Ticket/At Fault Accidents (on record)
I use State Farm for Home Owners, I get Multi car and no claims discount.
I registered this one as a pleasure vehicle, less than 7500 miles per year.
$500 Collision/$0 Comprehensive Deductibles

Grand total: $425.24 total / 6 months......$54 total/ storage 6 months

I laughed at how cheap it was......At least I think it is....

What are you guys paying?
-Matt

I am jealous. Just so you can feel good about yourself I'll let you know what I'm paying on my 2LT.

State Farm (Insurance is in Dad's name, he's been with them for 20+ years)
18 years/old
No Ticket/At Fault Accidents
I have good driver, multi line, multi vehcile, drivers education, good student, and steer clear discounts. (It's about 40% off)
The car is listed as primary use, with my dad as the primary driver and me as a secondary driver.
$500 Collision/$250 Comprehensive Deductibles

...and the grand total.... $800 for six months. If I get into an at fault accident or get a ticket my insurance will double.

I am 30 and it cost me $300 extra for 6 months on top of my other car. This is the first car in us to get all 5 star crash ratings I think.

I was in the same boat 20 years ago and had to run PLPD on my 86 Firebird and then my 87 Formula 350 because of the costs (and the value was much lower)....I ran full cover on my street bikes at that time (mid 90s) ZX-6R/ GSXR750 and those were always about $400/6 months.

I didn't run full coverage on a car until after college.

Don't get me started.... we get raped in Louisiana... reason? A TON of uninsured motorist on the roads. I pay about a buck fifty a month with a flawless driving record.

I pay less than you for a whole lot more.

also with State Farm.

1995 4runner
2005 Honda VTX 1800 motorcycle
2007 Camry Hybrid
2012 Camaro SS Convertible

Also have the House, Multi-car Discount, and Earthquake Coverage, clean record discounts.

$250 deductible on comp
$500 deductible on collision

$300K/$500k/$100K coverage ($300K per person liability, $500K per accident, $100K property)

all the vehicles are registered as pleasure with under 7,500 per year because they are rotated and I only average about 5,000 miles per year on any one of them (work 5.5 miles from home).

I pay $368 / 6 months on the cars.

I am a bit older than you (45) and like you have had State Farm for a long time (28 years)..

Funny that you say that, because when I was emergency test driving (grand am motor blew) I got quoted 3 vehicles.

From least to most expensive

Camaro
Cruze
Traverse

The Camaro was 6 dollars cheaper then the cruze! My wife was having a wth moment and that folks is how you convince your wife that you need a camaro!

I wonder if it is not the high safety rating the Camaro's have?

$500 deductible
I am 22
No tickets on record, no at fault accidents ever
Split driving evenly between truck and camaro
$300K/$500K coverage
Amica

With a 2000 ford ranger- $2400/year
With the ranger and camaro- $3200/year :( I think I need to go insurance shopping

Also, Camaro was the cheapest quoted between:
2013 mustang gt
2013 hyundai genesis 3.8
2011 mazdaspeed 3
2013 scion fr-s
(yeah I looked at a lot of cars before going with the camaro, don't hit me)

For the most part we all seem to be doing fairly well with the Camaro insurance.

For comparison I was quoted about $200/6mths higher for a 2013 Mustang from my agent.
