Congrats on the Vette, for me it will be a 2016/17 vette and so far I have had no problem with my paint. In the end it all comes down to what makes you happy and what fits the budget for me.

Quoted you above because this is how I feel about the Camaro community. So, it's alright for you to throw that out there, so I'm just using your own words to describe why I feel this way about the majority of 5th gen owners. Quote:
This hooked up with the Z51 suspension makes me go...... Also, the Z06 is crazy on insurance, and was 30,000 more than this one.

You will get a garage like that one day and probably bigger and better. I need a bigger one personally right now. I did not say one was better than the other, I think they are both great GM sport cars and have always been a Camaro fan. Each car has a different feel and performance based on how they are designed. This is my first Corvette and probably not the last one. The Camaro is my second, the first one was a 67 SS and it was a great car too.

A uber small sample size of folks you saw pulled over and at a gathering doesn't represent "a majority of camaro owners". It represented folks at that gathering. Heck, this site doesn't represent a majority of camaro owners. Quote:
You're correct. p.320 says the old GM basic text saying to use 91 but you can use 87 with reduced performance and knock. I used LS3 data. Quote:
On corvetteforum.com, over 65% of corvettes for sale are Z06s and they are in the $48-$60k range vs. $28k-$35kfor a 08. Dunno for a 07. At 500 hp, its for race enthusiasts so insurance is going to jump. |

If OP had simply posted here first, he could have had all the attention he wanted

Ha ha ha I was telling my wife about this thread. She suggested that the OP gets one of those hula girls that dances and waves as you drive. Brilliant, problem solved..
