Didn't kick anyone out, just voiced my opinion, like everyone else here. Some people think just because they own a Corvette or Camaro, they know everything about cars. Why don't you look up the dictionary definition for know it all!

I'm afraid that better fits a younger hotrodder's idea of what a sports car is. Too focused on the engine, not enough on overall balance.

The best I'll give you is that the Camaro and the Mustang are borderline sports cars (and at a bigger stretch I'll throw in the Challenger), but they still lack the nimbleness and driving "feel" that really defines what a sports car is.

In accepting the above as sports cars, you then have to accept the idea that the "sports car" spectrum is a lot wider than your car either being a sports car or not even close. No way are the above-mentioned ponycars at the same point of "sports car hardcore-ness" as the Miata, which in turn is a pretty weenie entry in comparison to a Lotus or Caterham 7 (Caterham being the official Lotus 7 continuation nameplate).

That also means that OP's new ride isn't as hardcore of a sports car as most folks now think. Time was when it was considered a "GT car".

The problem with blurring the lines that distinguish general categories of cars is that eventually the individual category names become meaningless. Would you accept a V6 Camry as a "muscle car" even though it'd put up a decent quarter mile fight against many of the 1960's original muscle?

There has to be two sides to every argument or there would be no argument in the first place...
I just have a different opinion of what a real sports car is than you. That's all, no need to start telling anyone that they are not allowed to discuss it.
