Questions about my tune on my heads/cam Camaro

So I have a heads cam build on my 2014 LS3 Camaro SS with flexfuel. I was tuned by a guy out here in AZ that street tunes his vehicles and although the car pulls really hard and makes really good power i feel like im not fully satisfied. For one the car doesnt chop like it should because its idle is set at like 800 rpm and it really only find its correct idle when i have the AC on. I also notice on decel it has a lot of rev hang due to the rolling idle speed that he set. My first question is, I have an SCT Tuner, but the car is tuned on Hp Tuners software, would i be able to adjust the idle speed so that the car idles a bit better? And my second question, is if not, do you guys know of any remote tuners that would be able to help me out? I reached out to Dyno steve and he told me he wouldnt touch the tune because he doesnt believe in flexfuel/ethanol and i should talk to my tuner but I had already gone back for some revisions and I feel like the driveability of the car has just gotten worse since I had those adjustments made.

What's the LSA on your Cam? 800RPM sounds right. It has more to do with the spark overspeed/underspeed tables. The LSA + advancing / retarding the spark during idle is what gives you the chop your talking about. To much spark not enough spark, that back and forth is what you are hearing.

Yup, LSA plays a big part in how the chop you are looking for, the tighter it is the more chop, the wider it is the less chop, and the idle is close to mine which is at 850 with a 112 LSA..

Its a 112 LSA, 233/242 .629”/.629” Ive heard cars with this same cam idle a lot better, and i know the car shouldnt rev hang the way that it does. I just need to figure out if theres someone whod be able to help because im really over going back to that tuner.

Well you just might have to do a different tune if you are over that shop, hate to say that because then you spent good money on a bad tune. You might want to contact DynoSteve and get a tune from him with your cam and mods, start over and get it right, then you wouldn't have anymore problems. His tunes are some of the best according to lots of folks on here. Good luck, hope you get her squared away..

Do you have any other mods and is this a manual or auto?

PCM of NC is pretty reasonable and knoledgeable.

PM me your email address. I will take a look at your tune and see if anything stands out. I'm not a pro tho. Just research the hell out of things.

Its ported polished and milled heads, BTR Night fury cam, flex fuel, fast 102 intake manifold, and a Nick williams 103 tb. Its a manual as well.

I would go back and tell the tuner your issues, you paid for a good tune and it’s possible it just needs a few tweaks. If he is a good tuner and stands behind his work, he’ll be glad to correct it. The idle for a Night Fury Cam is usually between 800-900 so that appears to be close.

I had gone back and asked him about the idle and rev hang and he said the rev hang is normal with the 103 throttlebody and that the car wont chop and idle how i want it unless the AC is on. So im just at a loss as to what I should do.

That's the problem with finding a company that will provide you with a remote tune unless you bought their parts. It looks like your going to have and find another
local tuner. With a cam like that it should chop all the time. I know what makes the chop in the tune but have no idea on where to set your timing at and one thing effects another.

Yea you need to find another tuner and have them go over it. I had a Night Fury Cam one time and it chops 24/7 no matter whether you have the A/C on or not. I know nothing about the throttle body you’re using
