Nothing wrong with that The 6 made more sense for me since it's a daily driver, but next time around it would be nice to get an 8! That is, if gas isn't $20/gallon by then:(

Why do people believe that Manual Trans cars are always quicker than Auto's..... the most successful bracket racers in NHRA run autos because they are more consistent and with the right torque converter stall speed will run quicker than a maunal trans car....

I don't know why this is even still being debated. Watch the posted video. The Camaro beats the Mustang. And yes, in the other video the Mustang pulls on the Camaro, but the Camaro hangs in there.

Posts from actual drivers (on a 'stang forum no less) about the 2000 and 2002 GT:

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ustang-gt.html

http://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l-...and-specs.html

Sounds like a driver's race to me. Heaven forbid, a V6 could beat an older V8.

Re-dyno'ed today with the Boss intake. Same dyno. Also had additional 2011 Mustang GT's on the dyno. I wanted to see if the dyno was "loose" since my initial numbers seemed high.

Out of the other 2011's, the CAI, O/R X and CAI cars all roughly put out the same HP. 397-406WHP.

The one long tube, CAI, tune GT laid down 421/384 at the wheels.

My results were:

I gained TQ and HP in the 4,400 - 6K range and saw nice gains from 7K up. Can't wait to get this thing back to the track.

NICE number's wbt! It's bad ass that its making peak power at 7,000rpm+ and all on the stock cam's and without even cracking the valve covers. I wish I could justify buying a wrecked 2011 GT auto on copart.com and transplant the majority of the drivetrain into a clean notch back mustang from the 90's or a rare 87-88 T-top notch focused on running low 10's - high 9's and being road trip friendly.

Both cars are low to mid 14 sec cars from the factory. I think the 4.6L in GT would respond better to some of the common aftermarket mods...like CAI and Exhaust. Its a drivers race almost everytime IMO. The biggest advantage might be that many many many GT owners have swapped the gears to 3.73's in their cars...which is a huge advantage at the track....

Thanks!

The interesting piece is that it makes and holds that ~430WHP for almost 1K RPM which translate to when shifting, it is damn close to being in peak power the entire way down the track.

Later this year I will pull the heads to port them. I am going to wait on the cams until there are more options available. JPC is pushing just over 500WHP with their cam regrinds and ported heads.

There are a couple of folks building Fox/Coyote combos. It would be a neat project for sure.

I will do so, however, due to technical difficulties I can no longer PM. I can no longer communicate. My own fault. Was caught spamming as it was called. Looking to give V6 guys another forum to communicate about our Camaro’s. We have all made up and moved on. '

I would very much like t catch up with you again at Lapeer. Send a PM thru SCRMING and we will make those arrangements

^ I would of liked it even more if your system/ part combo-selection would of been able to beat the SS's lap time, which just doesn't seem right to me from all the competitors s197 racing suspension video's ive seen on youtube. Oh well I'm not in the market since I haven't found the limits of my stock PP suspension on race tires yet. I need more time behind the wheel at the track then anything.

Thanks for the link, your stuff looks nice, and a few parts I'd like for myself.

The mustang they used in their supercar challenge didn't use their parts, it used saleen components. Probably wouldn't make a huge difference, but the part combos you see listed on that page are not the ones used in that test.
