SS to be produced 1st? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

In the article about the 3rd Camaro off the line that will be auctioned by the College for Creative Studies, it says the 3rd car and it says it's a SS. That means they are producing SS first run? Sounds like it to me. Sounds great for SS buyers. The thread Pink started that has a poll of what people ordered, showed 75% ordered SS at last count. Seems to me they would have to Start off with SS.

Actually they are producing my 2LT/RS first cuz it's the cool thing to do.

i think they can do either and let both come down the line at the same time

Why would GM shoot themselves in the foot by producing ONLY one model at the expense of others?? GM is in enough trouble without pissing off some of their most loyal customers.

I highly doubt they will produce ONLY SS's for whatever period of the folks attribute to that article.

I was given the impression on one of these threads that they would gearup for a run of one model then another. I agree they should be able to send what they want down the line and add the options as it gets built. Just sounds good that if they do a run of one and then switch, it sounds like it's the SS is first. This is just speculation until someone who knows can confirm how they do it.

I beleive all production is concurrent.

They can be produced at the same time…… depending on what ratio GM wants to produce 50/50 60/40 70/30. For example, every 5th car on the production line would be an SS.

that doesnt necesarilly mean the ss is the first to be made. i dont think there is too much order to which style gets made.

The VERY first production camaro to be made will be an SS, Scott told us that at Indy. And it's going to the museum to sit next to the VERY last 2002 SS...

they have a reveiw of the new V-6 in Motortrend now...
So I would think since that ones first to reveiw it would be first to be built..

It's because GM is allowing the V6 to be reviewed. There aren't many SS pics out there compared to the LS/LT.
