Which way to face subs?

I'm leaning towards using my 2 jl 10w1 subs in the camaro and I was wondering which direction, towards the front or back, sounds better. I'm going with a ******** box and the box can be built either direction. It has been my experience that it depends on the car as to which direction sounds better, so I thought I would ask. Does anyone have first hand experience as to which direction sounds better? Thanks

I have mine facing to the rear, it is better because the soundwaves hit the back of the trunk and roll forward and this creates longer wavelengths and sounds better. I have had them both ways and I like the rear facing. It is personal preference really.

subs need to have the sound bounce off something for them to sound smooth. when you face them directly toward you, the pulse is more distinct. but like all sound there are always reasons to variate away form standard to make a different effect.
