Awesome story! One of if not the best thread I have seen since I have been on this site.

Dan I can't imagine how you feel losing your baby. I couldn't comprehend losing mine. I know you put on a happy face but still. It has to be cool how it has all turned out though. Like someone else has said you are wise beyond your years. That was a very good thing you did putting that note there. I hope you enjoy your 2002 and get the chance to have another 5th gen.

I remember Dan's original posting way before he had to give up his 5th gen. I specifically remember promising myself to never, ever, ever treat my kids like his dad treated him, and to always make sure my son feels my love and knows he is valued.

Wow! This is one of the coolest stories I've heard. Thank you both for a very open and honest view into the interaction of 2 people who would never have even been remotely tied together otherwise. I love how this car creates family in more ways than one!

I remembered reading something that you had posted about hiding a note in your first Camaro before you traded it on your pace car. That's what inspired me to hide the note in mine. I waited a little while and then started googling the VIN and searching used car listings to see if I could find it. Never did find anything but then the other day by chance I clicked on Dee's thread and there she was. I didn't really expect to hear anything until it was time for the battery to be replaced but I guess I just got really lucky.

Thank You Dan, You know, I always wanted a brand new one. My uncle has a 74 he bought brand new when he was 18, and still has it today. I thought thats what I would do to. And not to rub anything in, I got so much more with her past history, she will mean more to me than any brand new camaro ever would. I do plan on keeping her for life! And will probably join a local Camaro club to keep her showing off
