MILEMARKER UPDATE

well today was pretty productive. We managed to get the car on all 4 and off the lift. here are some pics of the suspension assembly progress. This is all just a mock-up to roll it to the fab shop where we will be putting in the cage.

put in the front suspension first. I wish I would have gotten more shots of the front suspension while we were putting it in, including the cradle from extreme innovations. it looks really killer installed in the car. This is all i've got for now.

we tackled the rear suspension afterwards. the rear took a bit longer, being that there are 4 arms per wheel back there.

a few people over on the thread nathan made about the BBS wheels wanted some pics of how the car looks with the new wheels. I think this one will give them an idea... LOL

Man that's going to be gorgeous when you're all done. You guys should get a magazine to send a photographer out to properly photograph all this. There has to be at least ONE of the major custom/hot rod magazines that would be interested in covering this!

Yep and Hot Rod magazine, Chevy Performance, Road and Track, Car and Driver....any and all of them. See which one(s) would be interested enough to send out a reporter/photographer to do a story because this build SHOULD be in a magazine!

Actually this is just a street set up. We are working with a company thats making the first to market 3 piece carbon wheels. We're just not sure if the ETA will make SEMA but thats what we are shooting for. The wheels are expected to weigh 15 to17 lbs. As far as tires, we are looking at tires that will meet Optima requirements for thread wear. Lastly, another set that will be extremely aggressive to just see how good we can get this car to preform.

Thanks guys, we can always count on you guys for words of encouragement!

Quick update: We worked on further prepping the car for the cage install today by removing the head liner (sorry no pics), took a bunch of measurements and did some planning.

Here are a few pics.

We installed the rear ZL1 bumper just for kicks.

Figured while we were at it, we'll throw on the trunk.

Our brother Seth is really digging the satin black against the carbon and white. He is trying to make a case for the paint scheme.

I really like the aggressive stance from this angle. I have to put a plug in for the Max Jax as it only took about ten minutes to remove the lift and put it away. this lift has to be the best tool we can possibly have!

Here is a quick shot of the front sub. The rails look really nice with all the holes filled in. We are toying with the idea of a carbon fiber filler panel to fill the section for the master cylinder and replicating the same concept on the passenger side of the firewall but thats a topic for the Engine Bay thread.

Stay tuned.....

BTW, I gotta say that we were a little anxious about the fit of the Seibon body panels, since we have seen other aftermarket CF panels that left a lot to be desired in the fit department. BUT, I gotta say that our concerns were unrooted because the fit and seems were as good as OEM.

I must say though that garage is dang clean despite all the stuff being out of the car and such. Where do you store everything haha.

I think so, I don't see any of the defroster wires.

I feel like its real now that its rolling (even if its just rolling to the fabricator for the cage). I can totally see this thing tearing up the track now, and as others have stated, on the cover of many of the magazines we all subscribe to.
