You can get the CNC heads bare from scoggin dickey for a grand, put your stock valves in, buy a real cam/springs kit, and gain 80-100hp. Then sell your bare heads to recoup a few hundred. Or send off your stock ones if you don't mind down time, you can find places with better CNC programs and mill the heads to up compression but watch out for PTV clearance. You'd be closer to 120hp. People care more about hitting a number that means nothing on a dyno versus worrying if their engine will implode, springs will bust, or torque in a fat car. I'd shoot for 80 and have a car that lasts as long as stock with great drivability but thats just me.

So, do you think this internal work would cause folks looking for a untouched camaro to turn up their nose? I'm curious what this does for resale. More HP is great but I'm concerned about retaining value.

Any update on the LS3 Heads-and-Cam Kit #19300535
Modded cars are always harder to sell than stock. Most gear heads don't trust someone else's work unless its documented from a reputable shop. Most non gear heads don't want mod'd cars or aren't willing to pay the premium that mod'd car owners want over a stock car since they don't care about the mods.
So yes, internally mod'd cars are usually a harder sell than bone stock cars. And usually assume a mod'd car has been driven harder than a stock one. And wonder what has been or is currently broken.

The best resale is going to be keep the car dead stock .

And the least fun. If you stick to boltons you can have fun and still return to stock in the end. Avoid a tune.
However if you intend to keep the car for a long time going internal and tuning makes more sense and is the most fun.

about that kit and the warranty. talked to local chevy dealership & gm directly said the warranty would be maintained if they did the install & tune. still debating if the juice is worth the squeeze for that price of just over 2k i was given for just parts, but at least don't have to worry about losing warranty.
