I've seen all the threads relating to the dash crack issue, but I haven't really run across one with as much discoloration in the airbag area as mine.

Oh you meant the discoloration. Now that I have not seen, I thought you had just wiped the area down for the photo or something.

Mine is a 1SS that I ordered and took delivery of on August 3, 2009. It now has 37,000 miles on it. The dealer called me today to say that it will cost me $100.00 and GM is paying the rest. Will have it replaced next week as soon as the new dash shows up Thanks GM for stepping up.

The cracked dash problem seems to be very common on the 2010's they should replace it even if its out of warranty because of the defect...

The crack on mine started around 50K and got progressively worse around 57K. I took it to the dealer and they agreed that it shouldn't happen with this amount of miles on it. They told me it would be warrantied by GM even though it was out of the 3yr/36K. Took care of me with no problems.

Also would like to know if this issue is only with early production 2010 dashes. I have a 2011, think mine was produced Aug. 03, 2010, as I ordered May 2010 & took delivery 2nd week of Aug. Same dash design as 2010 models. When my 2011, 36-month warrenty expires this coming Aug. my Camaro will only have about 5,500 miles and garaged kept.
On my 2011 there is a small 1/2-inch long minor indent on left side of airbag but no crack yet.
Would just like for someone to state when the dash panel was revised to prevent cracking. Will my early production 2011 dash be prone to cracking or was the issue resolved before the 2011 models went into production, June 2010? Or, was the dash panel revised after Aug. 2010, after 2011 models were already in production?

I was also wondering if a minor indent on the left side was normal. I checked the new dash right after they installed it and noticed it was there. It worries me because it feels the same way the old one did when it started cracking.

Cracked dash

Ok so my instincts where correct. I went to pick up my car and the dash they installed was scratched and dented but that's not it they pulled my gauges out with a flat head and chipped it all around they scratched the heck out my right and left pillers they scratched my ebrake scratched my center console. It's amazing you take your car to the dealer and they tell you not to worry but when you see such a crappy job like this you wonder wtf they did behind the dash I'm so upset luckily for me I took pics of my car inside all the components with the call tag cause they were telling me those parts were like that till I showed them the pics and they apologized and said theyed order the parts but after being treated that way and seeing my car like that by people that really don't care about there jobs it sucks to say but I don't want it anymore you pay so much for something I mean its a turn off so yea

Aww man that sucks, but reminded me to take a ton of pictures before mine goes into the dealership this coming Monday for a new dash. The bad news: I have to pay $100 because my car is outside of the 3yr warranty.... I really was hoping GM would admit fault in the assembly, but at least they are willing to replace it at a pro-rated price.

up date: the dealer did good will my dash didn't cost me a thing it took 2 days for them to change it. picked it up and the windshield had arm marks all over the inside and now my ipod keeps starting at song one and a couple of times it doesn't show I have any thing hooked up, so I guess I will have to go back down there for I pod problems.

Stop yelling and take it to your dealer for a replacement.
