GM is about to completely piss me
so the week before thanksgiving this girl hit me in a parking lot and messed up the front of my car.. no big deal right my car is getting fixed and the estimated time to fix it was a week and a half.. well my dealer had to order a new headlight assembly but it went on back order.. my car has now been there for 8 weeks and GM is telling them is going to be another 2 weeks before it gets there but yet they're assembling new cars everyday with the exact same headlamps .. it cant be that hard to ship me and new headlamp so my dealer can give me car back when they've had every other part on my car ready to go but now they're just waiting on this.. not trying to spark any arguments just needed to vent a little.. and if anyone on here that works for GM knows anyway to help my headlamp get here sooner please let me know

you do know if they give you just one person the part you need, they need to do it for everyone...
and before long, there's an issue with production. believe me, i know the wait hurts (i've been waiting for a speaker to come in since oct) but it's in the better good of all concerned (current and future owners) that things go the way they're supposed it. sorry you needed the parts to begin with. |

You're not the only guy who needs a replacement headlamp.

it really wouldn't be an issue if they could wire the headlamp up for me to be able to drive it but the girls snapped the piece that secures it down in half.. all im saying is if GM's headlamp manufacturer is able to make them to send them to the plant surely they could make some to ship out for replacements.

I decent dealer would "borrow" a headlamp from an unsold Camaro on their lot to get you back on the road again. Have you suggested this ?.

what about posting up a request to one of the guys who has their car garaged for the winter?
i'm sure someone would be willing to make a few bucks and have the part sent to them once it's ready. |

didnt think about that.. might be a good idea.. i actually just got off the phone with the parts manager at my dealership and he said he was on the phone all day with GM and he finally talked to someone high enough up that told him they are air freighting it out tonight and it should be here tomorrow... but ive heard that before so we will see what happens tomorrow

yeah I had a small issue getting a new headlight as well. It ended up being the idiots at my dealership. They were still telling me they couldn't get me a headlight, after another dealership in the same town ordered one for me and already received it. So, if you don't get one soon, call another dealership and have them look up the part number just in case.
I am also still waiting on a new speaker since late August.
