Im still not clear on what the problem seems to be? The OP just stated it was steam and he stalled the car. I am curious as to what you are getting at?

Might be time to agree to disagree.. Let the dust settle on this one for now folks...

No need to let this get out of hand. For now, take a step back please.

thanks,

Thank you for taking the time to do a comprehensive study. I am sure it was a fun and informative time for yourself as well as our waking up today and reading the results. I am completly satisfied to see my stock Camaro is in good order "as is" in the CAI department in comparison to the aftermarket products.
Again thank you!

THanks for all the tests and for the donor car. If you tune the car for optimal performance, is it possible to go back to stock without the dealer knowing?

that is a heavily debated question... at this point no one seems to be certain...

i am getting my headers thermally coated to help keep exhaust gasses hotter,
and hopefully prolonging heatsoak a tad.
Their unit is not yet available. They pulled it because of some design concerns. It should be out again.

Testing for the LLT?

Excellent test, very impressed with all of the data! While the SS owners have a lot of options already, the v6 is only slowly ramping up. Any chance of LLT tests when the product lines grow to support it? Would be interesting to see how the DI engine reacts to CAI.

The Di has a good intake manifold so a good CAI will be good for the car.

Lawman to answer your question, the GMPP kit does not even have a "k&n style" filter. It is a paper cone filter dyed orange. The cone has more surface area so it may flow better than the stock panel filter, but being paper it won't flow as well as any of the cotton gauze or cotton/syn filters. The good news, I guess, is if you want the shiny lid you can get a replacement K&N, Airaid or afe cone filter. But that's another $40 or so after you spent the premium price for the GMPP logos.

I'm sure GMPP will have one on display at SEMA next week. I'll get some pics.
