What kind of gas for the 2LT
Can anyone who has received their car tell me what the owners manual is reccomend you use in the car?

probably not. I remember someone posted on her that it was tuned for regular and that super would get little to no gain.

just a note, you CAN put regular in the v8 but you will probably suffer worse gas millage for it and lower HP.

Regular... But something tells me that I read some place that ALL gas mileage ratings are taken using premium fuel. If it will make a difference, I don't know.

Check out this car and driver article. It talks about the difference between brands. My car is only getting fueled at a station on the top tier list mentioned in the article.

The alloytec V6 gains *ZERO* from using premium fuel. It has achieved all of it's programmed maps on 87 octane, it is pointless to use anything else.
The 8 can use std. fuel, but it will retard the timing aggressively as knock is detected. I wouldn't make a habit out of running 87. |
