I would turn off abs as well then turn your brake pressure down to About 68%. It's a lot harder to lock up and you can feel when your car is about lock a tire up. You can brake a lot faster with abs off. I'm top 100 in A class on all tracks trust me on this one. I race all assist completely off, manual with clutch, suggested line off, and simulation steering. I would just practice manual and get what button layout works best. You will shave literally seconds off your lap times by doing this. Just can't get discouraged and keep tryin till you get it. It's hard going from your foot and hands to shit to your fingers lol

Hmm I will have to try messing with the pressure. One of the things that slow down my lap times now is the fact I have to feather the brake so they don't lock. When I first got the game I was only 5 seconds off of beating the monthly bounty which at the time was a turn 10 team member racing a viper around Road America. I was pretty happy being that close and probably could have gotten closer with more time. It took me like 10 laps to get there and each lap I would shave about 2-5 seconds.

Now that the recent Xbox One update has fixed some things, who's up for some races on FM5? Drifting? Circuit? Drag racing?

Believe they only have a ZL1 in this one.

Correct. I'm sure they'll add the Z/28 eventually though.

My best A class cars (the only class I race) are the zr1, CTS-V, and an LS swapped 1 series M coupe. Spend a lot of time in test drive. Do 3 laps to get the tires and begin to tune. Once you are done tuning head to the leaderboard and tear up people's times.

Everyone is different but you ALWAYS WANT AERO bumper and rear wing, but what works for me is soft suspension around 27psi in tires and play around a lot with camber bump stiffness rebound and usually I have relatively soft roll bars. You always want more camber in front than rear even if it's a .1 difference. It helps reduce understeer every car is different though. But once you understand tuning you'll be unstoppable.

Forza 5 and battlefield are the only games I have and the only reason I bought Xbox one was for forza I'm a die hard fan in the winter.

Was pretty dissapointed with Forza 5 tbh :( the cut the tracks in half and had a major cut to the cars from 4. and removing car clubs, Auction house also kinda killed the game for me. Don't have any drive to push for top 10 times in any class.

Does anyone drive without TC or STC? I'm trying to learn to drive without assists, but it's so frustrating since pushing halfway on the trigger gives full throttle for some reason. I'm following this guide http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/tu...ese-Steps.aspx
another thing that that link doesn't go into is changing the trigger deadzone settings so you can widen or reduce how far you have to press the triggers or steering before the game registers your doing it. I usually drive with all assists off and ocasionally use TSC for stuff like the F1 car. I also run 135% brake pressure with ABS turned off and my diff is usually 65% accel and 5% decel

This game desperately needs some type of qualifying for career races. It is literally impossible to run a clean lap starting from 14th place with a bunch of idiot AI drivers in front of you.

If you are good enough it would put you in a higher starting position. I know for me the first 2-3 turns is usually like bumper cars after that I separate from the pack

I always just kinda hung back for a bit and let them wreck themselves out.
