Alternate Head Gaskets (optional) -- I'd consider getting these (LS9 version):

PN 12622033

These are better than the LS3/L99 MLS version -- but, they can reduce compression ever so slightly.

Ryan from GPI highly suggested going with these...

LS7 Dampener (optional):
PN 12581276

Factory Chain (I got from GPI. Mileage on car will determine if you should change):
PN 12646386

Your pump and chain should be good! You have very low mileage. Cam will be great! I'm assuming DOD and AFM delete?

Keep us posted!

I did my cam swap when I was about 24k miles as well. After how many miles is it good to replace the pump and chain? I got the SS3 VVT cam kit from Ryan.

Ive also been wondering as far as any other additional parts to increase durability/peace of mind with a new cam? I don't know a hell of a lot when it comes to additional maintenance and parts that should be changed out/upgraded. Im still learning. Just want to make sure I have a good setup to last for the long haul.

Pumps are usually good for a lot of miles, 150k or more I'm told. LS3 pumps (not L99) are different. If your in there, good time to change it. Chains I'd say after 60k if you take off the cover. These stock chains are c5r quality too...

VVT Cam Swap: Parts List

Whilst the OP list is really thorough and comprehensive from nuts, bolts, gaskets, oil pumps to chains, tensioners, swapping lifters, etc., it is important to point out not all that is really required for every cam swap. That's like a 'belts and braces' manifest drawn up by a committee for a major overhaul.

All bits available with instructions from most suppliers in neat kit form. So relax, to simply add VVT to any e38 GenIV is less than $1000 over the usual one-trick static cam swap. e67 (LSA) is possible with custom FEAD.

No need to patch existing harness, critical wiring is supplied with timing cover kit, solenoid to ECU pinout zip ties to existing ECU cabling. PM me if you need more detail.

Also not much is mentioned often outside the torque spread, but I've found continuous VVT incredibly useful in tuning powerful smooth running, more safe and predictable, lower oil / coolant and air temps, and waste heaps less fuel.
