2013 Interior and RV Mirror featured in Car and Driver post today

Have a look.

http://blog.caranddriver.com/2013-ch...arview-mirror/

The article is about the ZL1 but from what I read the only ZL1 specific item in the interior is the steering wheel.

Other than the new rear view mirror and radio/nav it looks a lot like the '12s.

That radio housing, looks pretty bad.

Mirror is as cool as a mirror can be I suppose, reminds me of the one in my '65 Galaxie.

Come on GM, really?!?! You couldn't make a better center stack for that touch screen?

Is there anyway to put the new Malibu interior into a Camaro?

The mirror is slick though. It looks like it has three touch screen buttons on the bottom, probably Onstar and such. What about fingerprints?

Does anyone know if the DIC will be color like the Malibu's or will it still be aqua?

Here's an idea...paint the radio surround and console around the shifter and aux gauges the same color as the panels that wrap around the dash and onto the doors. That will give it some continuity. Maybe add some ambient halo lighting around the console? The 1SS, 1LT and LSs can keep the flat gray. This ZL1 make gloss black. Level 2s make glossy gray.

well - have you seen one yet?

Perhaps it's appropriate to look at one in person - and then make a final decision.

What IS true: There is only so much real estate available in which to place all the goodies in the radio head. That's the reason that the CD player had to go away.

Now - we could have torn out the I/P and redesigned it - but that is hugely expensive - and frankly, I suspect most of our enthusiasts would rather see those dollars used to improve the performance of the car with things like ZL1 and 1LE and new wheels and such....... (remember - we're like you -- there's only so much money that we can spend.....it's called a budget)

So - the engineering group went to work with GM Design in order to bring you both "MyLink" and Navigation - and incorporating it within today's I/P design.

The finish for the face-plate can't be bright and shiny - otherwise it causes glare both in the glass of the car - and from light striking your eyes as it bounces off of 'bright and shiny' --

I also suspect that we'll have those faceplates painted in any number of colors and finishes by our owners - as many like to 'personalize' their cars and trucks........

so - I'm hoping you'll be able to see a 2013 shortly - and perhaps buy one as a stablemate to your '96 SS!

Can somebody post a pic? I'm on a mobile and can only see the one yellow ZL1 photo and not the mirror itself.

I wonder if that mirror will plug and play to an older car. I'd love to replace the giant brick that is in the car now....

Reading the article, I thought it was cool how Al said, " make me this", and it was done. We need to get him to like blue metallic paint.

From that pic it looks like the screen is to straight to see clearly from the drivers seat. It should have some angle on it. It may also be hard to use being mounted like that. I guess we'll find out. It just looks out of place. As far as the mirror, does anybody really care about a rear view mirror. That would be the last thing on my list for sure.

Love the Yellow though. The outside looks freak'en AWESOME!!!!

I'd swap out my mirror for that one. Never liked the bulky thing blocking my front window now. Mixed feelings on the MyLink. Like FBod said, need to see it in person. Notice the finger prints all over it already.

Wish you'd move those cup holders somewhere away from the shifter...

I love the rearview mirror. I like the new radio too. Color touch is a really cool radio. I'm anxious to play with the Camaro version in person.
