MSRP for the ZL1

Sorry if this has been asked. Does anyone have any info on what MSRP will be on the ZL1? One would think that it will be below a Vette? If the same or higher who in their right mind would choose the Camaro over the Vette unless you need the back seat?

The car won't be released to showrooms until next February, so figure this September before we know for sure (my guess)

No real word on price yet......a whole lot of speculation though.

I'm thinking/hoping between $45-$50K. My reasoning is:

If you take the $ difference between the base V6 Cadillac and the CTSV, then add that to the cost of a base V6 Camaro, you end up getting roughly $47,500 give or take.

There are people (needing a back seat or not) who would go for the ZL1 over a base Corvette of similar price......and I'm one of them.

If the ZL1 performs as I think it should (high 11 or sub 12 1/4 mile times), and the C7 Vette is a "refresh", AND as long as the ZL1 isn't "ridiculously" expensive, I WILL have a ZL1 in 2012 or 2013 even if it is the same or "slightly" more than a base Corvette.

If however the ZL1 isn't that quick and/or the C7 does look like the Concept/Transformers Stingray.......well, then I'm not so sure.......I may go back to the Corvette, but my final decision won't be due to price.

It won't be until the Fall, probably, before we learn anything. We'll know the final specs' about the time they release pricing, so we have a while.

This! Add me to that list. I was originally in the market for a left-over Z06 vette but when I saw this, I started drooling. I know it won't peform like a Z06, but if it runs sub 12's, more importantly to me, trapping around 120mph-ish, I'm in. Even if it just taps 120 in the 1/4, I'll be thrilled. That, and the WEIGHT!!! I'm dying to know what this thing will weigh. I'm hoping around what the SS weighs.

if its a 50 grand car how much more loaded can you. Im sure there will be options still. Im going with 47-48. Gm at least has to make it the same or less than GT500 to appeal to buyers.
