Are you kidding me?!? It comes with the same fob as the original key except with no blade? Good grief...

Have you read the scenario's of why the GM decided to change the key FOB? It's mainly because tall preson's knees could accidentally hit the key FOB while in the ignition and turn the engine off causing loss of power steering & power brakes.

So if you're not tall (which I'm not) I wouldn't worry about it......

I just picked up my 2015. No choice in the matter. The car is delivered with both keys dismantled and attached to the FOB.

Same here for both of mine. No use in it. Ruins the cool factor.

I'm tall, 6'-4", with long legs. My knees get nowhere near the key. So its not an issue with being tall.

Yep my 2014 Malibu has the same key and I bumped it daily with my knee, and my new 2014 Impala has the key but it's push button start so it does not matter for that car.

Thanks for clearing that up el ess A , doesn't look to bad but definitely loses on the cool factor . I'm 6' tall and I'm not even close to my key or the ignition. I'm not really seeing the advantage of a key with a phob swaying around with more weight than the fold out, but I'm not an engineer or 8 foot tall. Is it that big of a deal that I should let them change it for safety reasons ???

Is it mandatory for GM to "fix" your key if they have your car in possession for other work?
