"Leather" Interior?
Hi All,
I got the two tone black/gray leather interior on my 2015 2LT RS. As you know, they refer to this option as "Leather Front Seating Surfaces". I take this to mean that the only leather in the seats are the center bottom and back surfaces of the front seats (the areas you sit on and lean back on) and that the rest is vinyl, including the entire back seat. However, I have never been able to verify this. Does anyone know for sure? Just curious. Jim

Leather used to be the cheap-ass lousy interior, wayyyy back in the day. Personally I feel leather seats in a car are over-rated. My cloth seats don't burn me in summer or feel cold in the winter.

I have never been burned by leather seats in my Camaro. That's where the tinted windows come in

He must not live in the south. I'm with you, Chris. Down here you'll get your ass fried or frozen in certain parts of the year. 100 plus degrees outside will make you question yourself as to why you got leather in the first place. I like them, but some days I bitch about them. I also have to be more cautious.

It gets pretty hot here in the summers and I don't find my leather to be that hot even after all day in the sun. But our 97 f150 shop truck, those leather seats get scortching hot. My back gets sweaty driving it around even though the a.c. works great. Never a sweaty back in the Camaro. I think it depends on the leather, and whether the seats are perforated or not.
The cloth seats feel softer to me and I like them but I still like the leather better.

The "leather" in most cars is pretty crappy quality. Camaro included. I have new cloth fabric from a 1SS sitting in my garage. Cloth should of been an option for the 2SS. Heck, it should be an option for any trim level.
When I was shopping for my Suburban, I had a hell of a time finding one with a cloth interior. Open the door, see leather, shut the door....next. Of the several hundred I looked at in one weekend, three had cloth. Sales people were dumbfounded that I absolutely didn't want leather.

The cloth seats in my car consist of one uniform high quality material. Back, sides, seating surfaces... all the same.

The vinyl interior in my '70 convertible was so brutal that the previous owner had custom velour inserts made to replace the wafflegrain portions in the seats. Nicely piped and it was a real pro job.
Sadly somebody's cigarette ash burned the madrid grain portion before I owned it and the whole thing tore about 5 years after I bought the car. The split bench seat was very comfy.
