I think it's either going to be the 1LE or the 488. My guess, the 1LE.

1LE - too brutal on the street to win but checks every other box
718 S checks all the boxes - but a turbo 4 - noise is part of best drivers car and it does not have it! 911 Turbo S is an icon - best of the best overall - but maybe not the best drivers car - just a little to sedated versus the winner! 488 takes the nod - price no object - it does everything well, more excitement than Turbo S 4 past Porsche winners of 10 total 1 Ferrari winner - the only other time Ferrari appeared - so it is Ferrari's turn to shine! We will know by end of tomorrow. Last edited by Supercup; 09-20-2017 at 09:31 AM. |

My betting money will be on the 718. 718 checks all the boxes IMO. The way the MT has complained about stiff suspension lately and ease of use, the will leave the 1LE out. If the 488 is anything like a 458, its not super friendly around town so that would leave the 488 out. I am guessing Porsche returns at the top.
Edit: I stand corrected..the 488 wins. Last edited by 1970judge; 09-20-2017 at 06:12 AM. |

As much as I hate to say it I was betting on the Turbo S but the 488 won so there you go... wrong again!

For $365,000--as tested--it had better be the best driver's car!
And to think the $76,000 2014 Z/28 won this award. That's simply incredible.

I am more impressed with the ZL1 beating the GS/Z07. That combo is made up of pure voodoo magic from new orleans. The ZL1 putting 1.5 seconds on the GS is huge.

To be in that spot is a win already for Chevy. Bang for the buck is a no-brainer!

Best Drivers Car
"Best Drivers Car" -- I think it does mean something important...
I did not realize that the Z/28 is the only car from Chev., Ford, or Chrysler that has ever won this prestigious award. No matter how good the ZL1 1LE is, it did not win, 4th place seemed too low --- maybe politics, or maybe all that extra stuff under the hood, and in the interior changes the experience. Is it a harsher ride than the Z/28 ? Personally, I do not find the Z/28 ride harsh with street tires at 32 PSI, but, I am used to lowered cars with aftermarket suspensions. Bragging rights --- The Z/28 has it --- winning is everything.
