Don't you just love it when you're right?

So today I took my car to the dealer to get a PDR done on a door ding someone put in the passenger side of the ZL1. I also told them when I booked it in I wanted MyLink updated.

First thing is first, they tried to tell me that MyLink could only be updated if there was a serious issue in which they would probably replace the whole head unit.

I called bullshit and was right on that one and now I have fully functional USB and Reverse Sensor Indicators while backing up on my 2013 ZL1.

Second I called to talk to my service rep to make sure they didn't perform that "I'm a moron so I probably shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car" Key Recall. The one woman I talked to, who clearly knows nothing about uncommon sense herself told me that I would be forced to do the key recall.

My awesome rep confirmed what I already knew, that I can sign an I'm not an idiot waver, I don't have to get it done.

TLDR; One service rep can save your faith in humanity when everyone else is stupid.

Also obligatory pic of car!!!

Nice. What update was available for your mylink? Would my '14 have the same update available?

What I think - that's a hot as* looking car at the Sherwood Park Shell!!

I haven't even figured out how to use Mylink yet....thought that would be a winter project while car is parked in my garage. I have an aversion to reading instruction manuals...everything should be user friendly in my opinion.

Hope you like the updated version...good that you insisted on it.

I bought a box of 1/16 roll pins to fix my wife's keys when we bought her 14 ZL1. I've fix several sets for various people over the last month and a half

Thanks

The updated version is no Ford Sync but it is a step in the right direction for first generation software....

I wouldn't say insisted on it so much as told them how to do their job... I have never dealt with a female service rep in the Edmonton area who has known what the f*** she is doing...

Your 14' might have an update available, you would have to check with your dealer. It would be a different update as the 2014 Camaro's have a completely different software and hardware as far as I was aware....

MyLink only has the warning triangles now... they show up on either side of the screen or in the centre, depending on how close to hitting something or how far from hitting something you are. I will post a picture tomorrow. All 2014+ already have this feature...
