Sure. Not sure everything will be ready for CamaroFest, but if it is then that might be a good place.

Maybe a triathlon. 1/4, stopping, and autocross. I am in for a sc vs turbo vs na comparison. My car was in gm ht once already. I know them well.

Just got back from the shop and all the parts were delivered. They had already gone to the machine shop for weighing before they start balancing. Unfortunately, they found out they sent the wrong wrist pins, so we've in a holding pattern until we get the correct ones.

The goal is to get the weight back down from the 14g we added for each piston last time. Aaron is shooting for about +/- 1 g. That will make it easier to balance and hopefully we won't have to add any weight to the crank this time.

I've got some pictures of the crank, mains and the bare block I'll upload later. Figured I would share for those that have never seen an LFX torn down before.

Little misunderstanding on my part. I thought Aaron way saying he wanted to get the rods, pistons and pins within +/- 1 g of stock weight. What he was saying is with the wrong wrist pins it was already there. Now that we are 21 g less than stock.

The crank will be balanced early next week. They are also going to have to hatch score the cylinder walls because the new compression ring is very thick and much harder. They will need some help seating in. It is a pretty nice setup; all recommended by Wiseco for a car of this displacement and power level.

It will take about 2 more weeks to get the everything back in the car and ready for tuning. We are expecting slightly less power because of the ring package, but we'll see.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the new pistons (battery on my phone was getting low), but I did see them. There are some subtle differences. The skirt is a little bit longer and that land has a bit more material below it. The upper ring land is in the same place as the last forged piston but they added gas jets to keep it pressed out at higher RPMs. I had never heard of this but it seems to be common for race pistons (I looked it up before posting so I knew something about it LOL).

Although Aaron couldn't see any signs of blowby but the guys at Wiseco said they could see some and suggested we add the gas porting and stronger compression ring. Hopefully everything is built to handle the power now and we get to put down some good ETs/Traps.
