I've rented a 2013 2ss and have a 2014 2lt. both cars are bumpy and rough on the back and neck. but the posts above are right: it's a sports car.

I'd recommend 18 inch wheels, but...the problem with the RS package (which is where all the goodies are)...is that you get 20 inch wheels by default.

they look good, but its uncomfortable.

best analogy I could give would be a woman wearing high heels- sacrificing comfort for looks.

As for model, if you're rich and the commute is under 15 min, then SS is a sweet thing to have.
But if you're commuting longer miles and hours, consider getting the LT

Your right, then the SS is better, better suspension, better cornering, less body roll, and better foot print on tires.. (Unless of course you opt for the 20" aluminum wheels, Pirelli tires on the V6)

It has been awhile since there has been a V6 vs V8 debate...

Not speaking about just because SS has a bigger engine, can drive faster... I am looking for smoothness in driving... like your in the dalorean and your driving in the air... that type of smoothness...

Thanks guys...

If i buy a SS it will have to have lots of miles on it, cause i won't be able to afford modifications for a long time, unless i buy a LT, i can modify that in a years time... but I would like to know the smoothness of each... Its winter here where I am, and I will have to wait till April for a solid experience.

So cyrex: Where you at, what are you thinking?
Not too many people base their decision between an LT or SS on how smooth the car goes over bumps. Just go test drive both over the same bumpy road and you decide. That's to be the best way to tell.

I don't think he was asking about handling either, the OP was asking which has a smoother ride. In that case for what he was asking any of the Camaros with the 20's or 21's will have a rougher ride than the ones with 18's or 19's. I agree the SS is better handling than a LT but a ZL1 is better handling than an SS too. But that is not what the OP was asking.

I bought a 2LS for an everyday driver when theres no snow...the 18" tires leave a little more room for error, with the potholes that show up here in Pa. & Ohio...and the gas mileage is near 30mpg...I travel the Turnpike...
when I need tires, they'll be a lot less than the 20's, or the 21's on my Hot Wheels SS...
the ride is a little different between the two...not night and day, like the difference between the '12 Malibu I was driving everyday...

I tested both before buying...LT/RS is a smoother ride due to the softer suspension, but once I drove the SS, I didn't look back. Be warned, it's tough to go back to an LT after driving an SS...if money doesn't figure into it.

Any feedback from OP on which way they are leaning? After some thought, I do think the LT might have a softer suspension..

But, it might all come down to the special edition mini steering wheel emblem..

The V6 is the smoother ride, period.
