2011 SS STS questions
I bought a kit for my 11 SS used and have it installed to the knowledge that I have of turbo systems (very little) I have been emailing a tune back and forth and things just aren't panning out for the car right now. I know there are things installed to save the engine in case of over boost and other things.
I go for my test drive and when I try to give it throttle it feels like the front brakes are being applied and the car will also chug... I am unsure if I have the wideband installed correctly with the VCM scanner. I am also unsure if I have the proper parameters installed to monitor everything needed. I do not have a boost gauge installed and am using the Math on the scanner to rely on pressures. Does anyone have any information on where all the hoses, vacuum lines etc would be installed on this? I have some info but I am unsure if it is correct. I do have the Moroso catch can installed... I am out for work till sunday and trying to get some inputs and help before I return home. |

The PLX is listed in the VCM scanner, so if you have it selected you should be ok there. Does the wideband gauge display the same as the VCM scanner? Do you have the scaling setup in the tune for the 3bar map? I'm only running the 2bar ZL1 map sensor, so my offsets will be different than yours, but these settings shouldnt be stock. I know this is pretty basic stuff, but just trying to help.

General Motors 12592525 Is the Map I am running on, I have the parameters correct in the scanner, but from the actual unit to the scanner is what I have doubts on. As far as I know one wire into the very first screw hole and the ground into the 5th hole?

I just checked my sensor and this is the same exact one I am using. Open up your tune file and make sure it looks just like the pic I posted. As for the wiring of the wideband.... do you have HP Tuners Pro MPVI?

Does your wideband gauge and the AFR on the scanner read the same?

Yes I have my profile like yours on the MAP. and yes I have the Pro MPVI.
I can't get anything to read other than 0 on my knock retard. I know I might be asking a lot but I want to make sure i don't release the magic smoke. |

I bought the autometer dash control and unfortunately with my custom radio and controls that doesn't work so I am being forced to buy a gauge.

Sounds like you’re trying to tackle a lot of stuff all at once. Knock has nothing to do with the wideband. To log Knock retard, its pretty simple. Look at my first pic. All the channels im logging are on the left. Click the plus sign, search for knock retard, and select the default sensor. Its built in, super easy.
If you are new to tuning, I would stop and take it to a pro. A rear mount twin turbo setup isnt a setup you want to learn on. Still havent answered the question about the wideband gauge and scanner reading the same or not. Good luck man.

I do t have a wideband guage yet so I do not know if they are reading the same yet. Yes I am new to the tuning so I have a feeling the pro section is the route this going towards.
