It still needs a serious bump in bass tho, so my next upgrade will be to add a sub. |

I agree, my sons RS with the base system sounds about the same as my Z.

Well I can't say really cause Pops listens to the 50's channel and they didn't even have stereo back then. What a dog to do?

I added the sub thump system with sub.....sounds better....but the BA Speakers still suck.....and you loose your center channel with that system.......still not impressed even after the upgrade...better than stock..but I grew up with a brother who built car audio systems back in the day...so I know what awsome sounds like.....Sub Thump in a zl1 is not it. I would spend the extra money if the stereo system really is that important to you and get a custom install somewhere with all new speakers, amps, subs. just my opinion.

I am particularly fond of the "I didnt buy this car for the stereo comment", I dont think anyone did actually, but if you are going to put one in a 60k car at least put your best foot forward. Stereo sucks, as does the old analog alarm clock looking digits. But I didnt buy it for that.

Stock system distorts too easily and sucks. But for 60000 you are not getting 4000.00 in sound system goodies.
In my M5 the high end system is a 3700.00 option. |

I went with the Subthumb Fark, 10" Kicker sub and JL 700/5 channel amp. That made an amazing change in the improvement of the overall sound! I also added the hush mat throughout the car. Now I need to know what I should swap out the other speakers with. Anybody have any ideas on the door speakers with tweaters and the rear 5 1/2" speakers for my vert? I would like to get any help anybody would offer up, thanks.

Any "details" on why it's no good? Oh and I'm not into heavy base.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks the "Best" sound system, is open baffles on the exhaust!
