Great advice. Thanks to all.
I was leaning towards exhaust first. BUT I know doing it front to back is the preferred order. This will be a long term keeper car. 2nd Gen5 for me.

Car currently has 32k miles... In 20 months, that's why the NO drone is important. Hmmmm, more to ponder..
Headers take the lead coming around the far turn.

Being an auto it will really respond well to a tune. Like others have said headers and hi flows with a tune and the car will really haul. If you weren't planning on headers down the road anyways I might answer differently. I have wrestled with the exhaust notion too and like you have read a lot & it seems the results are all over the place from people. For now I am leaving mine alone. Oddly enough the tune improved the sound of my car (especially when I get onto it) though I have no idea why...

And my neighbour has a loud Mustang and everybody hates him so I don't want to be like him LOL.

UPDATE:
Made the plunge....Finally.
DynoSteve to the rescue.
Black Friday sale... Full system, American Racing Headers and a SCT4 tuner.
Headers to Tips.....done deal.

Installed a couple days ago. AWESOME....
Sound, performance, looks.....
Steve was available everytime I called or messaged. Man never sleeps!
The tune woke the L99 up... I know everybody says it.... but until you do it....
PermaGrin has now become a full time symptom.

Thanks to all who took the time to answer, make a comment or just sound off.
Now need Gary's ZL1 rockers to get here. WOO-HOO

Yeah definitely love to hear it. I am in the same boat. I am not 100% sure on headers in the future, but if I do it will be a ways down the road which is why I am going to go back to the front and going with a Corsa Xtreme Catback or Borla Atak.

Already have the SCT tuner with my CAI. Tuning out AFM and adjusting the shifting made a major differences
