I agree, but then again, it was from an enthusiast perspective that I made the comment that the 2010 Mustang GT had narrowed (not closed)the gap between it and the SS in terms of performance.

Who goes shopping for a rwd coupe and thinks to themselves, "I want the one that rides as nice as a Toyota Camry"?

I wouldnt use the term 'narrowed', more like, 'less of a blowout'

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

The track pack with the 5.0 could be quite the combination...

tl;dr all of the last page. But I'm with garagelogic, SRA obviously isn't hurting it if it's pulling .95g's and it def. helps it in a straight line, so the gap has been narrowed. Wait till they add the 5.0 or 3.5 ecoboost and we'll have an all out war. The average consumer ISN'T going to buy an SS or GT so that's why MT didn't talk about how nice it was driving to the grocery store.

Actually they did talk about it. That's how we know it sucked.

Your main problem was using anything from Consumer Reports and considering it valid.

Not bad numbers.

Speaking of the 2010 GT, while at the 2009 Phila. Auto Show, I took my sister and boyfriend (both Mustang owners and Mustang purists) to look at a 2010 GT on display...I watched their reactions > "".

My sister actually contacted me later that night, telling me that after looking at the 5th Gen. Camaro brochure she recevied, the Camaro was starting to look like a better choice in her eyes.

The 2010 GT's numbers are impressive. But I believe we'll see at least the same, if not better, numbers from the 5th Gen. SS.

Lame duck. I don't know why anyone would want a '10 V6 or GT. I'm excited about the Ecoboost V6,i think that will be the best all-around performer.

Word. If the 4.6 with the track pack can get into the upper 4's, imagine what the 5.0 or ecoboost can do with it.

I'm starting to thing there will be virtually no performance differences between the GT and the SS by the time 2011 rolls around.

closer curb weight, all in all, similar straight line performance
