o2 sensors

so who has installed headers and high flow cats and had to replace o2 sensors? i had one front and one rear strip out now i have to wait till monday to order new ones

It's not unusual to "drop a thread" when removing O2 sensors. Those things are in a HOT spot.

Be sure to use anti-seize compound when you replace them.

Best removal technique for me is to use a heavy open end box wrench on the sensor (are they 15/16th?) and tap the far end of the wrench with a hammer. Never had a problem doing it this way.

I did the same technique and all of my O2 sensors came out fine

A little penetrating oil will also help. heating up the bung with a torch is good too.
My went pretty smooth, nothing stripped.

I had to buy one rear. Luckily, the nearest Chevy dealer had one.

I had to buy 2 rear sensors. Both were a pain to remove. One of them was cross-threaded from the factory. The fronts came out with no problems.
