Looks like the emblem is built into the grille on the ZL1, unlike the older SS grille where you could actually remove the emblem altogether. So if you want to address the bowtie, you either black it out to blend in with the rest of the grille or buy another grille altogether. The ZL1 grille leaves you stuck with that big bowtie...

Took my front and rear off and replaced them with black powder coated, billit aluminum ones, they were pricey but blend in well. I hated the big "gold tooth" look as well.

Burston marketing "the camaro collection" they specialize in liscenced GM products. They are just big enough to fill the void in the grill. Pretty much sits flush with the grill. Easy install. Did it myself in 30 min. I have an ashen gray, pretty much blacked it out, you can still see the Bowie but have look for it. Nice and sleek.

I got the full replacement. Front only took 10 min. And the back took about 20. I'll post a pic tomorrow, my car lives in my shop bout 20 miles from my house. I only take her home when it's pretty. It's been monsooning here in NC for weeks! Need a boat to get back and fourth from work!

Yeah, the full replacement is solid black, all the same thickness, just thick enough to fill the recess caused by the stock bowtie.

I popped mine out by wrapping a thin screw driver in a terry cloth Used a little wiggle and pop.
