Dynomax

Got a full catback Dynomax put on today. We took off the H-pipe and put on an X-pipe and left out the resonators. New tips were put on also.

We tried Flowmaster and Dynomax (Magnaflow was an option but it wasn't a chambered exhaust so we didn't want to lose performance). Flowmaster sounded the loudest and sounded great in the low RPMs. But when we pushed it, it got reallllly raspy like a ricer.

The Dynomax was quieter than the Flowmaster but this made it not so raspy. That is why I went with Dynomax. It sounds 100% better than stock. I'm very glad with my decision.

p.s. Those stock mufflers are freakin huge. Sorry I forgot to take pics up at the bottom of the car when I was down in the pit.

No idea but we didn't put them on. You could be right though. I'll try to get a video up this weekend or next at the latest. Also, I am pretty sure this improved my gas mileage.

The new tips look amazing as well. 2.5 inch Inlet / 3.5 inch Outlet?

I would not be surprised at all if you improved your MPG...

Yep the stock pipes go from 2.5" down to 2.25" after they pass the H. On the X-pipe ones we put on we kept it 2.5" straight through. Your correct the tips are 3.5." The GM aftermarket tips I think are 3.75."

I guess I didn't realize it would improve MPG. I knew about performance improvements. I just don't know very much about cars. But I am learning

I would definitely recommend Ed Hanson's Muffler Service if anyone is in the San Diego area. They were VERY nice and definitely knew what they were doing. It was a 100+ mile trip back to my house from the shop so I had a lot of time to test out the sound. Don't get me wrong, it is still a bit raspy, it is a V6 afterall. But I'm completely satisfied.

What model Dynomax did you use. Was it the Dynomax 24238 Ultra Flo Welded Muffler Resonator ?
