If you have always wanted a website...?

I have wanted to build my wife a website for her business....
for years only I didn't know HTML code like seems necessary in order to build a website!
I also didn't have the money to purchase dreamweaver or frontpage or the other soft wares to build a website....

Then I looked around and got some quotes....1st proposal they wanted $3500 just to start up and then monthly fees.....YIKES...!

I found this online and it's pretty easy for most people with minimal PC skills to do...

Check out her website and give me some feedback!

Pretty good for someone with little skills :-) Where did you find "this" to create that? :-)

My girlfriend is a web designer so...no $3500 for me! )

I like it. Very good. I doled out a minimal fee to my Bro-in-law to do mine. He didn't ask me for any money but he spent considerable time so I had too.

It's obviously a work in progress that alway's going to be updated and changed as I learn more.
Now I'm trying to learn more about page rankings and getting this to show up in search engines and stuff....

Nice man, not bad at all...for a novice

Just yanking your chain, it looks good. If you're interested in web design, make sure to bone up on HTML/CSS, and standard web design tools like Flash and Dreamweaver, rather than Wix or Frontpage.

If you're interested in learning more about the Intarwebz, there are free website programs/templates like Wordpress and Joomla that use standard HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL in a very accessible way for beginners. It sounds daunting at first, but Wordpress and Joomla pretty much have push button installs, and you'll end up learning a lot in the process. Hit me up if you have any questions.

edit: Where are you in HB? I'm by PCH and Warner.

Not too bad...

Just a heads up, right now I'm rebuilding the site at work from one they had built about 7 years ago. I've always known a little html but never really kept up with it until now. I recently started digging into SEO (search engine optimization) and it really is interesting stuff. So one of the major rules first and foremost is, solid flash sites don't typically do well in search engines, so if she relies on that for business I'd rethink the structure.

HTML and a little CSS are your friends... build a great looking fast site that if done right will show up great in search engines (depending on the market you're in of course).
