A normal spare won't fit over the Brembos. If we were given a spare that was large enough to actually fit it'd be expensive and add to the curb weight of the car which so many have already complained about so bitterly.

Because all or almost all of the compact spares have the limit of under 50 mph.

I was under the impression that "constraint" meant not available thus creating a delay. And I think the OP had the same thoughts "however it is under constraint, so not many LS or LT will get it" . I know what a compact spare is and the limitations for driving on one is, I want to know how he knew there was a problem with availability!

DoNut spare

I ordered it but do have a question. Since it is not standard, where does it wind up to be stored? Right in the middle of the trunk where luggage might otherwise go??????

I'm almost positive, (not worth much ) that there is a void under the truck for it. If I'm not mistaken you can see it on the IVER car in the Indy images thread.

Here you can see part of the well cover and see the positive battery cable going down into it because the floor carpet piece is missing.

Is the battery located in the trunk or is that for a booster for the stero with a large AMP?

Thanks for letting me know.

My first car was a 67 VW with a 68 transaxle in other words a four lug on back with 5 lug on the front I believe. Anyway I only had it for a couple of weeks and it was icy and I was on my way home and the car in front of me hit his brakes and I knew it was too slick to hit mine and I was in 3rd gear. I downshifted and the ratio was a lot different and turned me sideways (which is what I was trying to prevent) and I was looking on the other side of the road to see where I was going to end up and a friend of mine came around the corner in a Charger and rammed my left side (sideways in the road at the time) all the way over to the middle of the car. It shorted out the battery and caught the back seat on fire. I got out of the car and tried to put the fire out but the seats were messed up too bad. Anyway I drove it off the road while it was still running and on fire. I ended up making a dude buggy out of it. I had a shotgun and two boxes of shells in the car and an 8 track with the song "Momma told me not to come" playing in it.

Do you know that the reasoning is behind having the battery in the trunk?

I LOVE GM vehicles, and particularly Chevy's, but would buy any GM vehicle if I had the $$...Hopefully, one day, soon enough, a 5th Gen CAMARO! Dave_O
