I think that is incorrect. I thought the Camaro had a 16 gal. tank now.

Figure that with the long lead time for magazine articles for print and distribution that this was true at the time this H2H was finalized.

My takeaway:

Both are fantastic options and both offer plenty of strong points. But the Camaro seems to clearly be the better performance car if that is what you are most concerned about. Want the best performance you can get and a car easier to handle at the limits? Get the Camaro.

Yup. I think it was silly they tested a fully optioned out Mustang and a base SS. It's not fair to either party.

I'm disappointed with this H2H, they didn't run laps with Randy Pobst in them. We already knew what kind of numbers the Camaro was making via all of the reviews last week. We also already knew the GT PP numbers from other reviews earlier in the year. H2H has always been awesome for the simple fact that Randy Pobst puts timed laps in.

OH and Motor Trend uploaded their H2H video for the month and it's the BMW X6 M vs AMG GLE63 S

I agree but it at least gives us a baseline to start with and we can look forward to MRC equipped 2SS loaded up similar to the GT PP test here.

So I'm going to say something here that you will NOT find many do in a reverse situation on the Mustang6G site.....and stick up just a bit for the Mustang. Would have been more fair if the Mustang was a regular GT with PP to keep some weight off.

That said, it still would have been 3,750 to 3,800 pounds, and still would have gotten its butt handed to it in the 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile. Yes the Mustang has gone faster than that in the real world. So will the Camaro.

But its very likely we are going to see the Camaro do sub 12 second runs bone stock on the A8 equipped car as well. Just wait and let it happen folks.
The GT only gets the 3.73 rear with the PP

It's true the 1ss weighed over 100lbs less, but it was still a spanking. The c7 weighs over 300lbs less then the 1ss and yet the times are near the same. 100lbs isn't going to effect nothing.

It also has the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty for the Camaro.

The Camaro is just the better overall car - period. Just like in the last gen.

Not saying a Mustang wouldn't be a fun car to own, but if you are a discriminating buyer of performance you simply have to choose Camaro over Mustang.
