DIY Cup holder Delete - Cover - $25
Hey, I saw two threads on Cup Holder deletes.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...pholder+delete and http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268163 I wanted to make a quick version for myself. My reason is that I am 5' 8" and my elbow hits the corner of the cup holder/console lid, especially on the 1-2 shift. I do not use my car for long trips and do not drink coffee on my way to work. If I want, i can remove the upholder delete in about 3 seconds. Here are the materials, and pictures. It took about an hour to make. Materials- Craft paper for template 2' x 4' x 3/4" MDF board (smallest size at Home Depot) $11 Vinyl from Joanne's Fabrics (wife bought it for me about $10) Interfacing (white padding) Staple Gun Jig saw Right angle air grinder (sanding discs) Steps- 1. Make template out of craft paper 2. Trace template onto MDF board and cut out with jigsaw 3. Set jigsaw to 45 degree angle to bevel edge 4. Sand with air grinder as necessary, trial fit 4. Cut interfacing(padding) to match top 5. Staple vinyl to MDF board 6. Marvel in your fabrication ability Now you can power shift into second with out your elbow jamming into the console cover!

Ha ha ha, dude that is awesome!
I bought one of these from RPI, cost around $40. I wish I had the insight to just make my own as you did.

Do somethin fun every day

Mine is here:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=328286 Staples work as well. I would cover those staples with a glued piece to avoid scratching the cupholder plastic.
