Tinted my tail lights
went with HeadLightArmour.com for the kit. great kit very thick tint but it was kind of hard to get on. i took my time and it came out great. good product overall. i went with the darkest tint they sell 20% "stealth smoke" the lights shine through PERFECT though. it looks super dark with the lights off but the running and brake lights shine through AWESOME.

I really really want to do this, I'm just afraid of someone rear ending me and having them claim they couldn't see my brake lights. Looks great though!

I was thinking the same but I suppose drivers in New York probably pay better attention to dim brake lights.

Only issue I had with the installation was some bubbling. But as the instructions states, the film breaths and the bubbles will disappear over time. Took about a week for most the bubbles to go away. Here's photos of my car with the taillights off and with them on. As the OP states, the film allows the brake lights to shine through very well. I'm not worried about people behind me not being able to see my brakes lights.

Do you know you could just buy a roll of window tint for $8 -$10 dollars and save $50???

I had these installed on my Mustang but 18% (same as my windows shhh), and I was rear ended by some blonde girl who said she couldn't see my brake lights.
They still worked, and the officer at the wreck asked me to hit my brakes and said if she couldn't see them she shouldn't be driving. Anyways it was enough damage to total the Mustang (knocked off rear axel completely) and that's how I have a Camaro! |
