I have my fuse in and both sides stay clean with no carbon build up. however when I take the car to the track I get carbon buildup on the muffler side because the valve is always open but some exhaust gas still travels though the muffler. It doesnt have fast enough flow though the muffler to prevent the carbon deposits.

As long as you wipe it off every so often it wont be permanate.

Nope, it's for real... With the fuse pulled only the outside pipes are used.

Whatever you fancy fuse in or fuse out just keep the tips clean. One of the best looking OEM camaro exhaust to come out in a long time. I polish my tips! Lol really I do...

Electricity, water, most humans and 1LE exhaust all take the path of least resistance. .

Aka. That looks completely normal.

Ok. I understand what everyone is saying. I stuck a wadded up paper towel in the clean side. Drove 2 miles. Hauling some ass. Down shifted, the paper towel is still in the pipe. So I guess nothing comes out or something is different.
One would think that there are two holes and a little something must come out. But no.

Yes I simplified but I am assuming the outside tip path does not create enough back pressure to push any flow through the muffler.

Edit: it might be interesting to see how fast the valve opens. If it is gradual then both paths could be used during the transition.

Would you rather drive straight down one road to get to a destination, or go through 7 side streets, exhaust gas works the same way.
